Baby room deco idea, fun tent! Tent para el cuarto del bebe!

I made a cool tent out of a canopy  I love it and my daughter plays here all the time, is her favorite hiding place, reading corner even takes naps here.
You will need:
  • A canopy, I got mine at Ikea.
  • 3 yards of cloth per each color that you pick, I got blue, green and pinck tulle, the fabric is semitransparent so it blends with the canopy tulle, and is lighter
  • 2 packs of wite velcro tape.
  • A ceiling hook.
  • Some ribbon to hang the tent.
  • A bunch of pillows or cushion.
  • Algunos listones.
  • Cojines.

What you do? Como se hace?

Stick one part of the velcro inside the canopy where the metal ring is and the other part to the cloth you got, make some ruffles so it looks nicer and it'll expand when your kids play.

I stick the green and blue in the velcro and the pinck tulle I attached with a  pin cause there were no more space left. Depends on how wide the cloth is, and I didn't want to cut it.

Put the ribbon on the tent and the ceiling hook on place, I decide to hang it on a corner so I can put pillows all around it and all done:)

The reason why I bought 3 yards of cloth instead of the size of the tent is because I wanted to put the left over cloth under the pillows so it will keep on shape, try it out:)

Suerte:)

Fun Montessori toys at home! Juguetes Montessori en casa!

Finally I'll show you more toys and fun activities that I do at home with my daughter fallowing Montessori method. This one I call it serving cotton balls:)
You will need: Colorful cottons balls (or other object easy to grab with pins), different size containers, pins and a tray if you organize the toys according with Montessori.

What you do? first sow your kid how to grab a cotton ball with the pins and put it on an other container,   after you do it let him try, until he learns it, past the balls back and ford several times, star with 2 containers an add more latter on if you want, when this activitie is master insted of cotton balls you will use fruits or any other snack so he will learn to serve him self. I stars this activities when she was 19 months old, now she is almost 2 years old and she is ready to serve her oun snacks. Alowing kids to do sertaing tasks by them selves boost their self esteem and become more independien, also remenber that every kid is diferen as well as the learnig rithm. I believe in my child ability to do thing by her self and I let her try as long as dosen't harm her self.

Eco-friendly lunch bag set! Lonchera Eco- friendly!

I found some of my old cloth bags that I used in collage and it's so cool that I just have to use it again and I been looking for a eco friendly lunch box for my baby girl so I figure it can be it and at the same time I'll stop using that much of plastic bags, I even make the whole set.
For the snack bags I choose a clear color %100 cotton but any color will work too, I saw in the top shapes related with lunch time and put velcro tape inside to open and close.

Tips to wash out hard stains: buy a stain removal bar, sun dray it or in the worst case scenario bleach it but in a very low mixture, other option  if you don't want to deal with stains attache a Ziploc bag in side with more velcro tape, sew it or use snap buttons, try it out!!

Suerte!

Table top Easel on cardboard!

I'm back people, I finally have some more projects coming up, for now I'll sow you how to make a table top easel out of a big cardboard box.
First you have to select a box that fits the side of your easel, it can be as big as a regular paper sheet 8.5 x 11 inches or a bigger one. Select the parts that fold naturally, look for the ones that will help you to fold in a triangle shape, it will be the board, like this one:
This piece is divided in three parts keeping the original folds that the box had.
base and board
           base
Here is the triangle hold it by a binder clip, you can put as much clips as you want I'm using a medium size.
I also cut a two others sides of the box that fold naturally so I can make a base in case of spills, and I left a little flange so the brushes don't roll over.

I glue the base of the triangle on one of the sides of the base with a silicone glue gun.
Make sure that when you take the binder off the easel can fold.

This is the end result, it is very lite so you can put it any where, and onece your child is done with it and put it a way:)

Baby books!

I just want to share some books that my baby loves and I picked them because they also teach her something, specially if there's something that I want her to do, like eat bananas ;) or veggies!!

Good behavior books

Books that will help to increase vocabulary like animals, colors, shapes, body parts, counting etc.

Books that will help with a specific issue like potty train, bed time or good manners, etc.

So what ever you want to baby to learn or do look for a book that teaches her that and read it as often as you can, do it as a routine in a specific time of the day, to my baby I read in the morning the book about bananas or food and she will eat her breakfast happily or bedtime book before she goes to bed, and so on. Try it out and good luck.

Montessori home activities. Clean is fun! Actividades Montessori en casa. Hora de limpiar!

As a teacher I love Montessori philosophy and it is all about teaching children throw play and manipulation of objects, so that children will participate in their environment like home activities.
So here is what I do to teach my baby to clean up in a fun and interactive way, she loves it, you can star as soon as 18 moths of age, this also apply for boys. Maybe in the future you don't have to deal with cleaning up time.

Clean is fun!
First I stared looking around the house for some appropriated cleaning items to use with my baby, or you can buy them too. Put this items in a specific place all the time where your child can rich them easily for when ever they are need. Ours are in a basket in the bottom part of the toy self.

Some cleaning items are, a small cloth towel or sponge to dry out, a pocket or conteiner where to put the liquid (water or milk), a small broom, brush, dustpan, paper towel etc.

So ones you got all your items in a establish place every time she spills something or make a mess encourage her to clean up, look for the cleaning basket, and show her how to do it, let her try and do it your self again,  is just a game. Note don't say negative or criticizer phrases like, "no like that, like this" or "you are not doing it right" just reward with a hug or nice word for trying it out.
If you do it as often as you can it will become a routine and in the future she may do it her self, of course it will take time but is a good habit.
Good luck!
Suerte!

Healthy lunch for toddlers! comida sana para niños!

Mac and cheese with broccoli.
Pasta con queso y brocoli

1 cup of whole wheat elbow macaroni
2 slices of american cheese
1 table spoon of milk
1 tea spoon of butter
1/2 cup of cooked broccoli finely chopped (just the soft part)

Boil the macaroni for 10 or 12 min. Rinse it  and put it in a pot add the milk, butter and cheese, cook and stirred until it melts, add broccoli and boil for one minute, and all done.
My baby loves it, you can also add spinach, green beans, or some leftover chicken. No salt please the cheese has it.
You can also change the quantities more veggies or cheese depends on your child taste, or use a diferent pasta, and I chopped it very finely cause my baby does not like the texture, it works!
Suerte!
